Shibden Hall

A Millenium Project in the park at Shibden Hall, Halifax, in association with Calderdale Council, designed to show the different types of stone and the variety of building styles found in the Yorkshire area.

Each section has an information board giving details of where the stone comes from and notes on the construction techniques.

One section shows a typical wall at various stages in construction, illustrating the use and significance of its components.

A shepherds hut with a dry stone corbelled roof stands in the centre of the site.

All built by volunteers from the Branch under the supervision of experienced professional wallers.
